I’ve been inspired by my friends Robyn and Jason Silverman who are posting what they are grateful for every day on Facebook.
Being grateful for what we have, while we still work toward what we want, is a powerful way to stay positive, honor the good in the world and attract uplifting energy in our lives.
Here, on this blog, I’d like us to take a few minutes on Mondays to list down one thing we are grateful for this week.
Why Mondays?
We often jump into our week with wild abandon and forget to center ourselves in our “why” instead focusing on the “how”and the “what.”
Often people moan about Mondays because they see hard work ahead. Rather than focus on the negatives, starting out seeing all that is good will make our work much easier and fun.
So let’s take 1-2 minutes to jot down our gratefulness, slow down a few paces, and start the week with focus and positive energy.
Here is what I’m grateful for this week:
I am wholeheartedly grateful to have a happy, healthy son. I know he and we are so fortunate that he is healthy, whole and very happy. We never take it for granted. He is why I do the work I do and why I am focused on my work-family integration. His being in the world inspires me to want to help other children and families to be healthy and happy, too.
Now it’s your turn.
What are you grateful for right now and for the week ahead?
Please share here in the comments and spread the word. Collective gratefulness makes the world a better place.

I am grateful to be an entrepreneur. A path in which I get to use all of myself instead of being confined to the restrictions of a narrow job description. I’m grateful to be married to my soul mate, a woman who makes me a better person and father every day. I am grateful for my boys, they are my heroes.
I am grateful for the privileges of a safe home, working power, and heat. I’m grateful to get to choose the work that I do and choose a path that allows me to attend Daisy meetings and school musicals. I am grateful for an amazing support structure from my family and friends. I am grateful for the privilege to vote (and the fact that the political campaigns end tomorrow). So much more, but I’ll save that for another Monday.
On this Monday I am grateful that I found a lovely, trustworthy, hard-working housekeeper who cleaned my home and relieved my mental clutter. After a long day of doin’ the mental health thing, I felt as if I walked into a hotel…:).
I’m thankful for a home filled with people I love, a life filled with music & caring, food, and reliable utilities.
I am grateful for my business, for Susan G., my family and friends and my higher power.
I am so grateful to be in California today! It’s warm, gorgeous and a joy to be able to wear shorts and a t-shirt in November. Other than the great weather today, I’m also grateful that I live in a country, even with all the problems we have here in the U.S., where we get to exercise our representative democracy on a regular basis. How amazing that is and what a unique proposition our country was founded on. So yes, I’m grateful for all the day-to-day things I do, and for the flexibility I have, as well as living in a country where freedom and liberty are our values.

P.S. – and yes, I’m very grateful for a husband, children and now grandchildren and even parents who are still hale and hearty. Life is good.
Thank you all for sharing your gratefulness! It is totally making my day!
I’m grateful for a warm home, a warm husband and a gr8 son!
I missed this last Monday, but here it is, Monday again! I am grateful for all the comforts of home, for the health of all my family members and my own health, for great work and great play, for the emotional closeness of friends and my partner, and for a trillion other things!
